Vow2E+
The Vow2E+ is a single fuel heater with a water assist chamber. Unlike the indirect heaters that other people are making and trying to pass off as effective this little heater is a direct heater. That means the NGK plug is in direct contact with the fuel all the time. Don't worry it's quite safe.
The heater plug however will stay on only as long as the fuel is less than 70oC. A thermostat turns the unit on and off as and when it is needed. This method of heating is not only more effective than indirect but just as safe. With the water assist you can utilise the heat from coolant water which will heat the unit and the oil taking the strain from the NGK plug. This will leave all the heat from the plug free to heat the oil and should allow the plug to spend more time off than on.
With direct heating the life of the plug is extended. Plugs are not meant to be used for long periods in air which isn't good for plug life in indirect heaters. Coupled with high quality NGK glow plugs and a new + plug fitting plug life and reliability is greatly improved. The plugs in these units are submerged which stops them from overheating and allows them to give at least 12 months before failing.
They are simple to fit with a 2 pair of hose clips and 5 wires to connect. A diagram and instructions are included to help you with this. The fuel section should be fitted before or after the fuel filter. You may need to add some water hose but this isn't expensive. The water should be inline with the heater matrix feed hose and not cross connected between feed and return hose.
1 or more heaters can be used in combination if more heat is needed. In mm the units are 25x45x76 With plug and Couplers 25x130x105 Water is 15mm while fuel is 8-10mm
All parts needed to fit this unit are included (except additional heater hose if needed). You can add a switch to the unit to allow you to turn the unit off. You may wish to do this if you run on 100% diesel or if you have a water heater as well.
These units are suited to single tank conversions but can be used to speed up switchover time in Twin tank systems. They can be used with water heaters to provide fast heating until the water is hot. They are suitable for long or short trips unlike water only systems.
The using of Veg oil or Bio diesel or any other alternative fuel in your vehicle is entirely at your own risk. Not every vehicle is capable of running on cooking oil at a high % and it is your responsibility to determine if your vehicle is suitable for use with alternative fuels.
